Lets have a Baby Shower!
Every one loves a great party, and new moms, and moms to be, are no exception! What a chance to show off the new baby or to just sit around and talk with those special friends you haven’t seen for a quite a while.
Some do prefer to hold the shower after the birth. Welcome home showers are becoming quite popular. And do not forget the new dad also, he may wish to have some of his friends around too. There is no need to have separate rooms unless that is what is wanted.
Anyone can arrange the shower, but normally the new mom’s best friend, or a relative would do it. If you are planning to arrange a shower here are a few pointers!
Remember all new moms are different, so start your planning by having a chat about what type of get together she would really enjoy. This is a special occasion, and all the attention should be on mom, or mom to be and the birth.
Some might fancy a large themed occasion, some would prefer a nice quite meeting with their closest friends. Either way, step one is find out.
Step 2 is who to invite and how to invite them. Again talk to the guest of honor and find out. There are lots of printed invitations suitable, or you can make your own really special ones. Maybe a ring around will do it. And then there are lots of other things to consider.
Baby Shower Games: Do you want to play games? You can find some Free games, or you can buy games which are really interesting, quite cheaply.

Do you want special verses, poems and wordings? Poems are often read at showers, and can add a really personal touch.The invitations are also an opportunity to express yourself with special wording. What about the food? There are lots of interesting menu ideas.

And then there are gifts. Would the new mom prefer a Baby Shower list, or perhaps money to help with buying a stroller or baby furniture. A close friend can find out all this without embarrassment. Do not forget the venue, this is really important and again pick a venue based on preference, and circumstances. I recently attended a shower held in a Bar. They had shot glasses with the parents and baby’s name embossed on them. For this group, this worked really well. Finally, be creative, make it special, make her feel special!
