I’m not sure where you live, but I live in Wisconsin wher it gets COLD and the one life-saving gift I received was a car seat cover. It slips right over the car seat/carrier and it has wool lninig on the inside so the baby stays warm without having to take the time to bundle them up in a heavy snowsuit. Their face is the only thing that shows. You can get them Walmart, K-Mart, Babies R’Us or Target. Another great (unique) gift I received was a baby time-capsule. It’s a big cannister that you can fill with different things. (I put in the newspaper from the day my son was born, his first picture, outfit he wore home, baby-bracelet, etc. You are supposed to bury it or save it to give to them when they are older. (I’m waiting to give my son’s to him for his 16th birthday.) Good luck!

Anywhere they sell toys really. Toys R Us has some good ones but they are ratehr expensive. You can always ask some friends who have little girls if you can borrow some from them. Toys Are Us and Stores like Walmart have these:Or there’s:Hope you have a good time at your baby shower.

Ratty Agreed. Short hikes are a good way to get started. Pushing too far could be deteimrntal to any future outdoor plans. Marc, I checked that simply for the name alone. Anything with Bacon and Explosion in the same name has to be good.

These are really petrty. What you can do is keep one of each, frame them and hang them up in the baby’s room. This gives you the excuse to keep one of each, plus your little guy might get a kick out of the story when he grows up a bit.Hope you have an amazing shower!!www.sarabbentley.blogspot.com

I changed tgihns around! Same room You put one baby in each section of an ice tray and then fill the tray with water. Each person get a cube and without smashing it or breaking it in any way then have to melt the ice. They can either suck on it or lick it to get the baby out. The first one to do so say my water broke

Dont get art projects, panrtes dont have time at first, and things directly useful to the baby are most important. I would get a nice laundry basket and fill it will goodies. nipples, a few bottles (even if she’s breast feeding she can use the bottles) a couple blankets, i’d avoid clothes,i know theyre cute but everyone will buy them. Boppy’s are so endlessly useful. spoons, diapers, baby wipes. A nice thermometer, baby grooming kit, infant tylenol.If you want to look ahead, maybe some sippy cups and toddler plates and spoons. teething gel,(check the date, it should last a couple years).If you wanted to get something for mom, try a gift certificate to a local carry out, theres nothing nicer than not having to cook a meal right after the baby comes home. Or some stretch mark cream.

Depending on how much you want to spend here are a couple of my ideas after hainvg had a baby recently and recieving many unique and helpful gifts at her shower. On the low end, I loved the gifts that were totally practical. For example, a basket filled with bath time essentials (shampoo, lotion, wash cloths, towel, rubber ducky, diaper rash cream, brush set, nail clippers etc.) You could probably fill a basket nicely for $ 20-30 or for a little bit more, buy the infant bath tub to put it all in. Or another idea would be a basket of feeding essentials (bibs, burp cloths, spoons, dishes, sippy cups, bottles, baby cereal etc.) On the high end, one very useful item we recieved was a bouncy seat ($ 50-$ 80). Play mats and other baby entertainers were also nice to recieve as gifts, as they weren’t always an essential item that we could afford to buy ourselves. Hope this gives you a couple of ideas.
